This is my National Novel Writing Month livejournal workspace. If you can access the entries then you must be really super cool and trusted.

For those of you who don't know, NaNoWriMo is a movement started six years ago which uses the power of forgivness to help writers write. It gives you the permission to write crap. You've almost got no choice because the goal is to write a 50,000 word novel (about 175 pages) in thirty days (November). It's a daunting task and at about 1700 words a day you're just not going to write Wuthering Heights. You can, however, have a lot of fun and write something that interests you, and maybe someday you could rewrite it into something magnificent. That is my fondest hope, in any case.

My 2004 submission is entitled The Adventures of Penny Dreadful in the Nefarious North. It is the travelogue of Miss Penelope Dreadful, researcher and advice columnist for the Victorian Era newspaper, The London Empire. This book follows her travels throughout Europe and Russia as she studies werewolves, vampires, redcaps, lochness, giants, gnomes and all other things that go bump in the night. In Miss Dreadful's world these mythical beasts are real creatures which must be dealt with. In her column, "Dear Miss Dreadful...," she teaches her readers how to deal with these beasts in their day-to-day living, but sometimes cases require a more personal touch.
